Luna Moth

The Luna moth is quite a sight to be seen.
This magnificent, large scale moth lives for only one week
and flies by night. They are a beautiful shade of green,
marked with little "eyes" and fern-like antennae.
It is pretty exciting if you happen to find one!

Your love for nature is evident throughout your blog and I'm captivated by your beautiful paintings. This one makes me think of the book Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver. The luna moth appears regularly in the story. If you havn't read it you might like to check it out. A nature lover living and researching in the woods.
